Heather's support and encouragement is so genuine and heartfelt. She truly wants everyone to succeed and every breastfeeding Mom needs someone like her in their "village".
I Found Heather over five years ago when I had my son. We didn't have any major breastfeeding issues but it can still be so hard in the beginning and she helped us on our way to 25 months of breastfeeding!
Then when I found out I was expecting twins I knew I would need support once again, and I was thrilled to learn that Heather was still doing lactation consults. Twins have been a whole different ball game I questioned whether breastfeeding was even going to work this time around, but with determination and Heather's knowledge and continued encouragement we are now 12 weeks in and breastfeeding is going well! She also helped me to start tandem feeding beginning just 3 weeks, which has been a life saver. Needless to say, I highly recommend Heather and am so glad she has been a part of our Journey!
Support is key!

Heather, and her knowledge about breastfeeding, was so instrumental in me finding my way to exclusively nursing my newborn son. Bein a first-time mom, you have no idea what to expect, and many times breastfeeding isn't what you expect at all. She was so patient and understanding of everything I was feeling at the time. She took the time to teach me skills and tricks on how to latch properly. I was able to take that and practice until my son and I were able to make it work. She's truly the reason I kept trying nursing session after nursing session. In the end I was so proud of myself for sticking to it, even though it was extremely challenging in those first couple weeks. Thank you to Heather's help, and our ongoing relationship where I could ask her questions, I was able to exclusively breastfeed my first son 10 months and my second son 13 months. I'm so glad I found Heather!

I am so thankful that I found Heather through The Lactation Network. During our first visit my 10 week old son was refusing to nurse. If I put him into the position he would scream uncontrollably until I gave him a bottle. Heather spent time talking to me and getting a history of our nursing experience up to that point. She then was able to get him to latch during the first visit! She wrote me detailed instructions on what to do until our next visit. When she returned he was gradually refusing less and less. She also noticed some limited tongue movement and suggested I get him evaluated for a tongue tie. Thanks to Heather I was able to find a pediatric dentist who did find a posterior tie and a lip tie. Once both were released we were able to go to nursing almost exclusively and he began to transfer significantly more milk. Heather also had many other suggestions that made nursing much easier. Every visit she would give me a written list of things to do until our next visit. She single handedly saved our nursing relationship - I have no doubt I would have given up if it weren't for her. Today he is 5 months old and we are nursing almost exclusively. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner!

Heather has been instrumental in my breastfeeding journey. After needing to have a c-section last minute, my milk came in a day late. From the beginning I was told I needed to supplement with formula for my daughter to get back to her birth weight. After finding donor milk and continuing to try and breastfeed, I found Heather. She came into our home and has helped my daughter and I tremendously. Her calm and knowledgeable nature makes me feel at ease with any questions I have. She’s supported us with weighted feeds and helped us get comfortable with different breastfeeding positions as my daughter grows. She’s also helped me with pumping tips so that I have a nice freezer stash already started for when I go back to work. I never thought I’d be able to make it to 4 months, but with Heather’s help we are quickly approaching 4 months and I’m happy I’ll be able to continue providing breast milk for my daughter for her first year of life.
